Amir graduated from Edinburgh University in 1992 and started his career as a general dental practitioner undergoing vocational training in Fife. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1993 on a short service commission as a dental officer, holding the rank of Flight Lieutenant and was later promoted to Squadron Leader in 1997. He expanded his general practice experience as a locum. He completed the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies at Bristol University before rejoining the Royal Air Force in 2001. Amir started specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and successfully obtained the MClinDent in Periodontology in addition to the MRD from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007. Amir was later appointed as Wing Commander and Clinical Director of the Military school of Dental Training. He also served as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and as a project supervisor for the University of Kent MSc in Primary Dental Care.

Amir is a registered specialist in periodontics and works in private specialist practice. Amir accepts referrals for non-surgical periodontal treatment, periodontal surgery including regenerative techniques, gingival grafting, root resections and crown lengthening procedures.

Specialist in Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics

Mark graduated in 1992 from the Kings College Hospital Dental School and trained as an Oral Surgeon in several hospitals during which he obtained a surgically based Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996. Following this, he held both Staff Grade and Registrar positions in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and gained entry onto the General Dental Council Specialist List in Surgical Dentistry. In 2000 Mark undertook specialist training in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute in London during which he obtained a Masters in Clinical Dentistry. In 2004 he obtained the Specialist Diploma of Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was awarded the GDC Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training. Mark also holds double specialist recognition on the General Dental Council List.

Peter Raftery – BDentSc, BA, MFDS, MSc (Diagnostic Imaging), MClinDent (Endodontics)
Specialist in Endodontics

Originally from Bedford, Peter qualified in Dublin in 2003. He started his career by moving to Oxford where he worked for two years as an associate in general practice whilst studying for an MSc in Diagnostic Imaging. During this time Peter fulfilled an ambition of playing rugby in the Varsity Match at Twickenham. Following this, Peter took on successive house jobs at Guy's Hospital and Poole General Hospital rotating through Restorative, Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery Departments thereby broadening his exposure to a variety of specialties. He gained invaluable experience and satisfied the eligibility requirements for application onto specialist training programmes. With this in place, Peter returned London to take up the SpR post in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute, completing a three year, full-time period of training in Endodontics in September 2010. Peter collected a Masters in Clinical Dentistry and passed the MRD exam in 2011.
